The ability to use graphical information in support of an argument or purpose of work is something needed in many aspects of life. This ability takes it a couple steps farther from just being able to read information presented in mathematical form. Even farther than being able to analyze the information. It’s the ability to take a piece of information represented in mathematical form, explain and understand it, analyze it, and come to conclusions about it in order to further your research or give statistical support to backup an argument. In this essay I will give three examples of where I prove my ability to utilize information for my arguments and work

A great example this is the “where am I right now?” assignment. In this assignment we are in groups each using our cell phone to find our exact locations using longitude and latitude as well as our address. We took the date we collected and consolidated it on to a slideshow. We all took screenshot of where it said we were located. We were doing this to prove an argument that location services on our phones may not always be as precise as people think. This data came to support our claim because each of the phones had a slightly different location which meant that they weren’t as accurate as some suspect.

The next example is the beta test survey. I keep coming back to this assignment because I think it proves a lot of things. Before and after beta testing our serious game, we collected data from our game players. With the data we collected we can prove that the learning techniques that we have incorporated in our game are productive in engaging with our game players. It also shows us correlations of the players feelings towards the game overall, including the aesthetics.
